Any application in which the operating conditions (electrical or environmental) will cause the device to experience stresses beyond the limits of the manufacturer’s published specifications represents a red flag and should be analyzed carefully. The most common “out-of-tolerance” condition is operating ambient temperature beyond the commercial limits of 0ºC to 70ºC. The ONLY performance the manufacturer guarantees is that described in their published specifications. DD & S recommends special analysis for any application that EXCEEDS these published values.
